If you haven’t heard of these guys before – you will after this one. Flying in from Shawinigan, Quebec, Micro-brasserie Le Trou Du Diable will be taking over barVolo with the brewers and founders in the house. Le Trou Du Diable beers will only be served on this night. To commence the occasion, House Ales and Le Trou Du Diable are teaming up to brew a special one off collaboration batch brew that will be open to the public starting at 12:00 noon.

Dieu Du Ciel! Beer Dinner @ beerbistro

Dieu du Ciel!, one of Canada’s top breweries, and beerbistro, one of Canada’s top beer restaurants, are joining forces for a mega beer dinner on February 8, 2011 from 6-10pm.

Known for its extravagant and memorable beer dinners with breweries such as Dogfish Head, Allagash and BrewDog, beerbistro’s Dieu du Ciel! dinner will feature a 10-course tasting menu, each course paired with a different beer. Some of the beers being featured at the dinner will be making their first appearance in Toronto.

Tickets are $125 per person, plus HST and gratuity. They are available now by calling the beerbistro at 416-861-9872.

Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel! and HMH Negotiants are happy to announce that the Rosee D’Hibiscus (Wheat beer brewed with Hibiscus Flower) is now available at the LCBO for the Summer 2010 Beer Release!

Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day. This beer won a gold medal (fifth place amongst 10 gold medal winners) at the adjudicated “MBeer” contest during the Mondial de la Bière in Montréal in 2007, and a silver medal in the 2008 Popular Beer Contest during the Mondial de la Bière in Montréal.

Craft Brewers Conference in Chicago 2010

This year HMH Negotiants attended the Craft Brewers Conference in Chicago. An extraordinary conference packed with events, seminars, great people and good beer. We had the opportunity to meet up with a few of our represented brewers and good friends; Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel!, MicroBrasserie Charlevoix, Phillip’s Brewing Company, Central City Brewing Company and many other great craft brewer’s from all over the world. It was great to see such a large Ontario presence there this year and we look forward to seeing everyone at the 2011 Conference in San Francisco! Congratulations to Central City Brewing Company for their silver in Category 68: Barley Wine-Style Ale for Thor’s Hammer and to Microbrasserie le Trou du Diable for taking a Silver in Category 49: Belgian-Style Dark Strong Ale.

HMH Negotiants Private Order #1 March 2010

HMH Negotiants and Microbrasserie Dieu Du Ciel! are happy to release the first private beer order for residents of Ontario; Équinoxe du Printemps – Maple Scotch Ale. It is brewed only once a year in January and aged for two months in order to attain a perfect balance in taste. A limited quantity of this beer has been reserved and will be available for Private Order until Monday, April 12th 2010.

Équinoxe du Printemps (French for “spring equinox”) is the quintessential marriage of two great traditions: beer brewing in Scotland, and maple syrup production in Quebec. At the first draught, the mouth is overcome by woody, malty flavours, sustained by a discrete touch of sweetness. The aftertaste brings about the flavours of maple, which are sufficiently present to be appreciated, but never overwhelming the typical flavours of a Scotch Ale. Approx: $84.00 per case (24 x 341 mL).
